Cherishing, Capturing, and Supporting all the Moments of Motherhood

Cherishing, Capturing, and Supporting all the Moments of Motherhood
I was born and raised in Cache Valley, Utah, so I learned how to appreciate beauty at a young age. Although I have a love for traveling (Hawaii being my favorite travel destination), Cache Valley will always be home. Growing up I loved taking pictures and everywhere we went I would come home with hundreds of photos. My love for medicine combined with my love for photography led me to become a Radiologic Technologist. I loved my time learning at Weber State University where I served as an Ambassador and graduated with three degrees. The best part of this time in my life, though, was meeting and marrying my very best friend and forever love, Britten. Before I even graduated I landed a job at Logan Regional Hospital and worked in order to put him through school. Radiographing patients in a hospital setting helped fulfil my need to take photos, albeit of the inside of people's bodies, and my love of serving people. It was there I learned a lot about positioning (posing), exposure, attention to detail and post processing (editing) which made mastering photography easier for me. Although I loved being an X-ray tech my real dream job was always being a stay-at-home mom.
How it all Started
After graduating my dream was finally going to come true, or so we thought, as we started trying to have a baby. This journey became a lot longer than I had anticipated, and just 8 months into trying I was diagnosed with PCOS and Infertility. Bringing each of my babies earth side was a challenge. Miscarriage, and infertility are apart of my story, but through these challenges I have learned so much more about our bodies and have learned to appreciate just how amazing they are. My life has been full of exceptional moments but none can even compare to the day I gave birth to my beautiful baby girls. My birth stories, one in the hospital and one at home, were completely TRANSFORMATIVE. They strengthened my bond with my husband, my relationship with my body, and truly changed my life. I know now, more than ever, that Motherhood needs to be cherished, captured, and supported. I THRIVE on being a mother and helping other mothers on their own unique journeys. I believe that mothers are given a divine gift along with a strong intuition for their bodies and their families. I am constantly learning, researching, taking courses, and improving my skills so that I can best serve YOU.

"she captured every single detail we didn't know we wanted"
"We found Alisa on Facebook after our birth photographer fell through two weeks before we were due. My husband is so so shy and uncomfortable around the camera and was so hesitant about having someone in the delivery room with us. Especially someone we didn't know and were familiar with. Alisa was quiet but present during our birth. We didn't know she was there, yet she captured every single detail we didn't know we wanted of that day. She thought of everything! She also did our newborn pics and was such a dream to work with. She understood where our comfort level was at, especially just having a baby and my husband being awkward and shy with pictures. On the drive home after our newborn pictures, my husband said how validated he felt after talking to Alisa about being a new parent. She was so good about reminding us we were doing a good job as parents. She also has told me several times how strong I am after my delivery. Of course I know that, but someone else that was there to witness and capture our birth experience reminding me how amazing my birth was is a very sweet thing. She is empowering. She is encouraging. She is kind. She is someone you want to be a part of the big moments in life. She captures them well.
